Mayor’s State of the City address set for March 13 with new format and ‘Taste & Talk of Nampa’ planned
Mayor Bob Henry is changing up the annual State of the City address. It will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, March 13, at the Nampa Civic Center Theater. A ticketed “Taste & Talk of Nampa” reception, featuring an array of hearty appetizers, will follow the speech.
The new format gives the city an opportunity to use the Civic Center theater, providing more than 600 seats and making it free to all those who attend. It’s also hoped that more city employees can attend the event with the time set later in the day.
“I’m hoping this new format will give us a chance to showcase the city, make it easier for citizens and employees to participate and make it more affordable,” Henry said. “We have much to celebrate in terms of Nampa successes, and we have many new opportunities and challenges ahead.”
The State of the City speech will be free, however, the reception will cost $7. It’s hoped that more folks will be able to attend this casual setting, enjoy a wide selection of hearty appetizers and visit with city and elected officials.
The Mayor’s Office wants to make sure there is plenty of food, so it is advised to purchase the $7 tickets in advance. Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door. To purchase tickets: visit www.cityofnampa.us/SOC2017 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
